CLT weekend; here kitty, kitty
We spent last weekend in Charlotte. On Friday night, we went to see a play that Mereda was in. It was a musical called "Nunsense", and it was pretty funny. There was only a 5 women cast, so it was cool to see her get a gig like that.
On Saturday night, we went to see an opera in Blumenthal Theater in downtown Charlotte. It was Cinderella by Rossini, and Alexa was excited to see the star, Vivica Genaux, since she had seen her perform in something else before. She has been wanting to expose me to more opera, since the only one I've seen up till now was Tosca last year, and that was very serious and hard to follow. This one was a comedy and was much more enjoyable. We brought binoculars this time (we always sit in the cheap seats at the very top) so it was nice to get a close look at the performers. Even more so since Vivica Genaux is quite a looker.
The rest of the weekend was spent visiting with the families. We have recently discovered that Aria loves cats. Whenever she sees one, she gets excited and starts waving her arms and screaming. Up till now, every cat gets away from her as quickly as possible. But Mom's cat was pretty calm and didn't mind having her near him - which she loved.

i didn't notice until just now that pete is in the background of the last picture. she's after him. that look of happiness in the third picture is so cute. little pudgy arm reaching out for the furry kitty. big grin on her face. too cute. seriously, y'all need a kitten. and then you can legally change aria's name to elmira.
She wants to luv 'em and hug 'em and kiss 'em and squeeeeze 'em!
My cousin's twins were very into cats for a while too. I thought it would be cool to get one of them a cute stuffed kitten and the other one of those realistic looking stuffed hyenas made by National Geographic. THEN you send everyone home to let Mom sort out the mess.
The last pic down looks very similar to the one of you in the back of our '96 yearbook.
