Bull City
Oh, Durham. City of our abode. What drew us here? Was it the ever-confusing road construction? Was it the overwhelming majority of liberalism and vibrant homosexual community? Maybe it was the gang violence, drive-by shootings, and armed robberys? Maybe it was the AOL Created With Me In Mind? No, it must have been the public school system! But wait, what's this in today's Herald-Sun?
Twenty-nine of 44 Durham public schools fell short of federally mandated academic-performance guidelines in the just-concluded school year, according to preliminary results made public Wednesday afternoon.
Fifteen met all of their targets and passed.
Superintendent Carl Harris said the results were encouraging.
Never mind.

unfortunately, the liberals will put all the blame on bush/nclb and none on themselves as parents. except, of course, for the ones who are convinced that durham schools are good because they don't know any better.
why don't y'all come on down to huntsville??
P.S. that doesn't mean i don't think nclb is screwing the entire country.
I assume nclb is No Child Left Behind. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on it. Write me a "guest blogger" post if you want and I'll stick it up.
